McDonald’s is about to surprise us once again with a new culinary experience! After launching Happy Meals for adults, reusable tableware, an automated restaurant and an anti-inflation menu, the famous American fast-food chain is preparing to put one of its flagship dishes on hold: potatoes.

But don’t worry, it’s only temporary! For almost a month, carrot, parsnip and beetroot fries will take over in the chain’s cones. McDonald’s therefore wants to respond to the new dietary trends of its customers by offering healthier and more ecological alternatives.

According to information relayed in an official press release, the test began on March 7. For three to four weeks, the 1,500 fast food restaurants in France will offer a mix of these three vegetables in each cone. In total, more than 3,000 tonnes of vegetables should be sold in France.

This initiative aims to diversify the food offered by the fast food chain, which wishes to respond to new consumer needs and the growing desire of consumers to eat healthier.

And for those wondering what it will cost, know that the vegetable cones will be offered in the same proportions and at the same price as the potatoes. We also had the chance to test them and we can confirm that the taste is really good! The portion is a little different from that of classic fries, but that does not change the quality of the product.
